Dee Camino is a Cinematographer based in Melbourne, Australia.

​Like the strongest materials, Dee was welded in heat and pressure. Born in the deserts of Saudi Arabia, his imagination was encouraged to be as vast as the horizon but scorching sun propelled him to keep his activities indoors. This only made him more curious and yearning. As a little boy he explored the world of art through different simple media mostly applied to paper. Then in the cool tropics and complex culture of the Philippines, he gained his balance, discovered what would be his lifelong passion and secured his fate.

Through taking up a Bachelors degree in Multimedia Arts in De La Salle – College of St. Benilde, he was honed into a multifaceted artist. And while his knowledge in the arts grew, so did his network of creatives and collaborators. He has played with media like Web Design/ Development, Audio, Graphic Design, Animation and Photography; however, Film will always be closest to his heart.

 

He is a visual storyteller but a different kind. Having lived in 2 countries with different cultures for the past 20 years, he applies everything he learnt in that journey to his daily life and his work. Travelling, meeting/seeing new faces and cultures, music and sports are some his many interests where he feeds off from. He believes playing with perspectives and colours is the best way for stories not only be relayed but etched in the viewers memory and photos are tantamount to his voice box and videos are ideas relayed through a microphone.

 

He is goal-oriented and works well individually or with a team with efficiency even under pressure. He has excellent communication skills with adequate experience in relating well to various kinds of people, from different cultures, from the masses, to non-government organizations, even those from multinational companies. Lastly, he believes ours is a spectacular universe and it is our duty to participate in its marvelousness.
